The event was bursting with delectable treats, which spoiled all the attendees, thanks to the enthusiastic Gregor Mohorič. The society's first meeting of the new season was organized by the management, where all members gathered. On this occasion, Gregor Mohorič, known for his passion for this sport, expressed his gratitude for the attendance and contribution to the society's development. All present enjoyed pleasant company, good food, and, of course, excellent ideas for the new season!
And as the highlight of the evening, the prestigious title of Honorary Member was awarded. Two outstanding individuals received this award for their work and contributions that have significantly marked the sport's development in this field. Klemen Bauer is a household name in the world of elite sports, and for good reason. As a long-standing professional athlete and member of the Slovenian Biathlon team, Klemen has participated in four Olympic Games, including Turin 2006, Vancouver 2010, Sochi 2014, and Pyeong Chang 2018. His outstanding accomplishments include a 4th and 9th place finish at the Olympics, as well as a silver medal at the World Championships. He retired from professional sports in 2022, but not before expanding his knowledge through formal education. Klemen graduated from the Faculty of Sport in 2013 and earned a master's degree in Sports Management from the Faculty of Economics. Even during his athletic career, Klemen devoted himself to social responsibility and participated in various promotional events.
Goran Smirčić is a fearless competitor who's not afraid to take on any challenge. He's also incredibly kind-hearted and understands that friendships are the strongest alliances, always striving to maintain good relationships with his fellow competitors and friends. For years, he's been passionate about stand-up paddleboarding, although we're not exactly sure when he first discovered the sport.
Goran and Urban's shared enthusiasm and friendship have been the driving force behind their success since they first met in 2018. Goran was the one who first brought the Amanzi board to a competition and landed on the podium. That moment sparked a fire in their hearts, filling them with motivation and courage that has brought them to where they are today. Their bond has only grown stronger since then, their collaboration deepening, and their shared success becoming increasingly significant. Goran has played a crucial role in the development of the Amanzi brand, contributing significantly to their achievements.
